The British government is prepared to move forward with employing the full worth of immobilized Russia's funds to support the Ukrainian military campaign, Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer has declared.

In a joint statement, the leaders of the Britain, the French Republic, and Germany emphasized that this unified step would increase strain on Russia's leader Vladimir Putin and persuade the Russian Federation to come to the table.

They added that the decision would be executed in tight collaboration with the US.

British penalties have blocked over £25bn of Russia's resources since Moscow initiated its widespread offensive against the Ukrainian nation in 2022. Yet, until now, resources sent to Ukraine using Russia's holdings had only been taken from gains and dividends generated on them.

Sir Keir told Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky that the UK, France, and the Federal Republic of Germany were in agreement in their goal to advance efforts toward using the complete amount of the immobilized Moscow's national funds to conclude the conflict.

He stated that more restrictions over the next period would apply more pressure on Russia.

This announcement comes after European representatives gathered in the Danish capital last week to debate using immobilized Russia's holdings for a €140bn financial aid to Ukraine.
