Followers Demand Arrest of Individual Who Seized Ariana Grande
Loyal fans of the pop star are urging that a individual who leaped a fence and seized the celebrity during the recent Wicked: For Good debut be detained or removed from Singapore.
A widely shared footage depicts the individual from Australia pushing past photographers and charging at Grande while the performers made its way down a event pathway surrounded by supporters.
Cast member Cynthia Erivo immediately wrested the surprised actress away from Mr Wen, who was observed being removed of the event by guards.
Mr Wen posted on Instagram Thursday evening that he was "free after being arrested", though legal records indicated that he was scheduled to appear on Friday morning. It is not clear if he was formally accused.
Pattern of Event Invasions
This is not the first time for Mr Wen, who describes himself as a "Troll Most Hated", has invaded a concert or event. His Instagram feed features recordings of him interrupting other high-profile occasions, including breaching the performance area at the artist's Sydney show in recently and in a similar way during The Chainsmokers event in the area last winter.
"Measures must be taken enforced against him as this is obviously a legal violation," stated an Instagram user, in a reply to a video Mr Wen posted of his actions.
"You've done this repeatedly... how are you not behind bars?" another Instagram user remarked.
Followers Voice Worry Over the Star's Well-being
Many fans accused Mr Wen for "re-traumatising" Grande, who had revealed suffering from trauma-related anxiety after a suicide bomb attack at the end of her 2017 performance in Manchester, killing 22 people and wounding numerous individuals.
"The star has endured numerous terrifying experiences... including the Manchester tragedy, and you believed breaching security was amusing?" wrote one more message on Instagram.
Several fans also faulted security officers at the Thursday event for not being adequately prepared; while different individuals requested social media platforms to ban Mr Wen's videos.
Response and Premiere Information
In clips shared widely, Grande seemed surprised when she was touched by the intruder. Her cast members Michelle Yeoh and Erivo can be spotted consoling her while Mr Wen was led out by security.
Grande has not issued a statement on the incident, and the remaining proceedings proceeded as normal.
Numerous of supporters had assembled in a sea of colorful attire at the Wicked: For Good international premiere in a Singapore mall, including a number who had waited for as long as a significant duration before it began.

The show itself is a derivative of the classic children's novel The Wonderful Wizard of Oz.
