I will overwhelm 'credible fighter' Paul - Anthony Joshua
Anthony Joshua prepares to battle Jake Paul in an eight-round contest which will be streamed in real-time on Netflix.
British boxer Anthony Joshua said he will "overwhelm entirely" the American and "defeat" his opponent as the pair met personally to publicize next month's bout.
Ex two-time world title holder Anthony Joshua faces social media star turned fighter Paul - in what is, theoretically, a massive mismatch - at Miami arena on December 19th.
Fighter's Mentality
"I plan to break his face and damage his physique. My goal is to show my superiority," the British boxer, 35, declared.
"I plan to overwhelm him. That's a fighter's mentality.
"I'm going to really want to hurt him. That's my goal."
Civil Exchange
Despite those words, a calm Anthony Joshua and internet personality Paul - usually known for his dramatics - exchanged pleasantries and remained civil with each other.
Paul rather attacked former Joshua's rival the Cameroonian fighter and called him "ridiculous" after the Cameroonian rejected a fight offer.
Taking Aim at Fury
Anthony Joshua, meanwhile, criticized British rival Tyson Fury - and refused a large bet 'The Gypsy King' claims he will make on a Paul victory.
"Jake Paul is superior to Fury - he showed up," the boxer stated.
"I give him credit for that."
Legitimate Opponent
In spite of saying he intends to damage his opponent, Anthony Joshua refused to speak negatively about his rival's pugilistic talent.
"Jake is a serious fighter," he remarked.
Jake Paul's Background
Jake Paul - who first rose to fame on the television network - has primarily fought mixed martial artists or past-their-prime fighters since turning professional.
He lost to British fighter Fury in 2023.
Commercial Attraction
However, the novice remains one of boxing's greatest money-making draws, frequently receiving huge paydays.
Prediction and Confidence
The 28 year old forecast a stoppage in the fourth or fifth round and asserted he would prevent the highly-expected Joshua–Fury fight, which is allegedly in the works for two years from now.
"It will be my match with Fury next year," Jake Paul declared.
Size Disparity
As Joshua and Paul engaged in the customary confrontation, with their physical disparity clearly visible, it highlighted just how surprising this entire matchup is - and how astonishing it is that the match is really proceeding.
