Renowned Actor Pat Finn, a versatile actor, Known For Appearances in Seinfeld and The Middle, Passes Away at 60 Years Old.
US actor Finn, who was seen in popular TV shows including "Friends", "Seinfeld" and "The Middle", has died at 60 years old.
The comedic improv actor died at home in LA this Monday having undergone treatment for cancer from 2022 onward, according to media reports.
"Pat saw everyone as a friend - solely future friends he had yet to meet," his relatives said in a statement.
They continued that he had "lived his life fully - with joy and exuberance".
An Extensive TV Career
His initial on-screen part was on the George Wendt Show in the mid-90s, where he appeared as the titular character's brother.
He subsequently landed a recurring role on "Murphy Brown" from 1995 to 1997.
He starred as the character Joe Mayo in "Seinfeld" in 1998, playing a host known to delegate burdensome jobs to his guests.
In the late 1990s and early 2000s, he appeared as a guest star on a variety of popular shows, such as:
- The King of Queens
- Friends
- "That '70s Show"
- House
His most famous role for playing Bill Norwood in "The Middle", featuring across eight seasons of the show between 2011 and 2018.
His work in movies include It's Complicated and "Santa Paws 2".
Off-Screen Life
Beyond his television work, Finn was an improv performer and worked as a teacher at the University of Colorado, where he was an adjunct professor.
He was a member of a six-person improv troupe called Beer Shark Mice.
"Pat coached, befriended and mentored many learners over the years and you'd be hard-pressed to find someone anyplace who has a bad thing to say about him," his relatives stated.
In a tribute, fellow actor Richard Kind said there was "no kinder, gentler, funnier, authentic human being you could encounter".
"Always positive, assisting others to improve and be funnier. A great dad, a great guy," he shared online.
The actor is remembered by his spouse Donna, three children, and his family.
