Shock as Beloved South African DJ Gunned Down in the Heart of Johannesburg.
A popular South African media personality and entertainer has been fatally gunned down in the country's largest city Johannesburg, triggering widespread grief across a country battling persistent crime.
Warrick Stock, widely recognized as DJ Warras, was attacked in the downtown area on the afternoon of Tuesday.
Authorities reported the forty-year-old media personality was accosted by three suspects, one of whom opened fire on him before escaping on foot.
The motive of the incident is unknown and no suspects have been apprehended have been made, police said.

Police indicated that Stock was attacked as he was leaving a building in the vicinity of the city center landmark.
He had spent several hours at the building managing the installation of security systems, which had been controversially occupied by unknown people, it was reported.
"The report indicates the victim was approached by three unknown suspects after parking his vehicle, and they opened fire at him before running from the location on foot," authorities confirmed.
Security camera video reportedly depicted a suspect with dreadlocked hair and wearing what appeared to be a protective services outfit opening fire on Stock before making his escape.
The DJ attempted to flee after he was shot but fell down on the opposite side of the road.
It was further revealed that Stock had an weapon on his person and it was not a robbery during the incident.
Important clues, like bullet casings, were found at the scene.

Police have appealed eyewitnesses who may have have information to assist with the investigation.
"Our information indicates they walked a long distance after the shooting, and police have been following their trail to find their location," added an official.
