The Streaming Giant Chooses Ideal Actor for Bon Clay in the Hit Series Season 3

The Secret Organization is set to make a major impact in the next installment of Netflix’s show of One Piece, even if the real showdown won’t take place until the next season, and a beloved, popular member has just been cast.

The streaming service revealed Tuesday that the skilled actor will appear in the One Piece upcoming season’s lineup and will play Mr. 2. The role has the ability to change into an exact copy of any person they’ve made contact with with their right hand. The performer, who is identifies as non-binary and uses they/them pronouns, will play a interpretation of that figure reimagined as gender non-binary, rather than as a drag artist, in the live-action series, differing from the original manga and cartoon version.

Escola is joined by a number of new cast members tasked with bringing the organization to the screen, including chief Sir Crocodile, brought to life by the well-known actor, a talented actress as Miss Goldenweek, and Sendhil Ramamurthy, who will appear as the cast as King Nefertari Cobra of the desert kingdom.

Even though Bon Clay is a major member of the group, the persona won’t make their debut One Piece the upcoming installment. Considering season 2 likely to portray the Little Garden segment, this signals a major departure in the placement of the character’s debut, one that could indicate additional alterations to the story’s structure.

The actor’s combination of sharp comedic timing and emotional depth makes them a ideal selection for the character. Besides their recent voice performance in the animated feature Boys Go to Jupiter, they garnered significant recognition and several accolades for writing and starring in the successful stage production Oh Mary!, emphasizing the versatility they’ll bring to one of One Piece’s widely praised characters.

Netflix's live-action One Piece program is due to premiere for its second season on March 10th, 2026.
