English soccer star Michelle Agyemang, darts player Luke Littler and cricketer Davina Perrin have been selected as contenders for the upcoming Young Sports Star of the Year award.

The three finalists have been recognised for their remarkable achievements over the previous year.

Agyemang played a key role in helping the Lionesses secure Euro 2025, Littler won the world title for the first time, and Perrin burst onto the scene with a record-breaking innings.

Littler claimed this honour in 2024 after his sensational debut year.

The three contenders were revealed during a live broadcast on a widely-listened-to radio show.

This year's winner will be unveiled on the annual sports awards show on December 18th.

The ceremony will be broadcast from seven in the evening GMT.

Michelle Agyemang

Age: 19 Sport: Football

Only 90 days after her first cap for her country, Agyemang played a pivotal and thrilling role in England's run to European Championship victory.

She came off the bench to score vital last-gasp goals in both the knockout stage games.

Her incredible contributions led to her being named the best young player at the Euros.

Later in the year, she was awarded the Golden Girl award for the best young player in Europe.

She was also nominated for the Kopa Trophy for the global standout among U21 women.

Agyemang, who has been at Brighton in a temporary move from Arsenal, suffered an ACL injury in October.

"To be named a finalist for this award is a privilege," said Agyemang. "I thank God and I'm thankful for the support I've received from my loved ones, mentors, colleagues and supporters."

Luke Littler

Age: 18 Sport: Darts

Littler kicked off the year in sensational style as - aged 17 - he became the most youthful world title winner in history.

He secured a dominant victory over Michael van Gerwen in the final.

His follow-up triumph at the World Matchplay made him only the fifth competitor to complete the prestigious triple crown of major titles.

And he wasn't finished there - his victory at November's Grand Slam of Darts meant he ascended to world number one for the first time.

At 18, he is the most youthful player to do so, breaking the previous record.

"To receive a nomination for Young Sports Personality of the Year is a huge privilege," stated Littler. "Winning last year was a special memory for me and I've had another unbelievable 12 months. I want to continue elevating darts."

Davina Perrin

Age: 19 Sport: Cricket

Perrin is one of English cricket's most exciting young talents and rose to fame with an unbelievable and unprecedented innings in August.

Her magnificent 42-ball century in The Hundred is the speediest century from an England batswoman in T20s.

It also stands as the equal third-quickest women's T20 century in a top-tier competition.

Perrin ended up as runner-up in the run-scoring charts and was named the Professional Cricketers' Association's top young women's player.

"I'm truly honoured to be named a finalist for the Young Sports Star award," expressed Perrin. "It means a great deal. I hope it encourages more young women to get into cricket."
